Go on, have a laugh

I truly really was going to write a blog post, mostly about our trip to the beach and show you my photos. But, while I was waiting for the photos to load I popped over to Blighty's blog.

If you feel like a giggle,

Go and visit Blighty, she has been up to no good at her mothers power lunch yesterday

May I present Isn't Negligee French for Neglect.

While you are chuckling over there I will get down to serious blogging.

Bondi escape

I have never really been to Bondi beach, or Sydney really.
Unless you call driving through the city, guided by a clearly malfunctioning GPS and getting lost under the harbour bridge with 3 whingeing children and a frustrated husband driving a car with a camper trailer attached a quality experience!

So, I was, in my own words,
"excitipated"
to find this little gem.

It is by the same people who own that gorgeous farm I showed you a while back.

My excited chattering about this little beauty,
has been met with less than enthusiasm by the males of the house.

Nevertheless, I am making it my mission to one day get to explore Sydney and all it has to offer.

I have to see the Donna Hay, General Store,
Pottery Barn, if it is open by then,
The bridge etc.

More info can be found here

Can you recommend any places of interest in Sydney?

A wee step back in time.

Yesterday I was out and about in the wilds of the Wimmera when nature called.

So I popped in here.....

My usual loo spot was a no go zone with masses of workmen paving new paths.

It was like stepping back in time.

To a very nice time, I must add.

It was as clean as a whistle, and neat as a pin.
There were lace cloths, faux flowers and neatly written instructions.

Who knew this type of place still existed?

I could imagine ladies coming to town for the day, popping in for a chat and a rest, Mothers feeding babies. I bet some tales have been told within these walls.

Check out the colours of the furniture.

The loos were clean.

And, came complete with a view.

It makes me feel happy that places like this still exist.

Instagratification

Hi there, it's been a while. School holidays are over and it is back to the daily grind.
And what a grind!
Do you know what I am saying?
Sporting hoo ha, working hoo ha, home hoo ha, it's all go go go!

And, I have a little confession to make.

I feel a little like I have been unfaithful.
You see, I have been hanging out a lot in Instagram land.

Over there, things are pretty spontaneous.
You see something, you take a picture and bobs your uncle.
It's up, it's out there, instantly.

all pictures by me with the help of marblecam

The feedback is pretty instant too.

The other thing I have been doing, is playing with iphone apps.
Beware, it is addictive.

And fun.

A lot of you are already in instagram land.
If I haven't found you,
please let me know your user name,
I'd love to catch up with you there.

See ya,
Moerks.

Gorgeous farm to stay at

I seem to have country life and farms on my mind at the moment.

I was delighted to stumble across this beauty.

You can rent her.

What a perfect place for a stylish country break.
I am drooling over the colours in this room.
Well, in the whole house actually.

I love the bunting on the front verandah.
It just says welcome.

All the details can be found here.

Do you have any favourite houses you hire?
It is always good to know what is around.

Chicken Taj Mahal

The school holidays well under way and it has been a hive of industry around here.
I have been decluttering, starting with the dreaded bathroom cupboard and doing lots of little jobs like framing family portraits etc.
Mr M has been busy building a nesting/roosting box for our chooks.
If you read this blog you will know our chooks have started laying beautiful eggs for us.  Unfortunately they have been laying them in a compost bin that is very hard to get to.
so without further ado.

I give you,
the chicken Taj Mahal......

This is honey (dark silkie) and Pepper, (light silkie) discussing their new home.

The 3 isa browns enjoying scratching in the dirt.

Honey testing a perch.

I think they are discussing wall colour and flooring choices!

Porridge the dark Isa brown, checking out the nesting boxes.

Let's hope the girls are snug and happy in there and reward us with more eggs.

farm

If the weather clears up some time soon we might head back to our friends farm to camp for a couple of nights.

The air out there is crisp and clear.

The sky feels bigger.

And the light glows on dusk.

Magic.

We were out there on Saturday to watch the AFL grand final.
Sadly Hawthorn lost.
After the game, a few of us took a stroll down the drive to catch the last bit of sunlight.
And walk off the footy snacks.

I have been compiling my camping shopping list.
marshmallows, hot chocolate, spuds in foil, hot water bottles.

balloons and glow sticks.

I have been itching to try this idea
ever since spotting it on Pinterest.
Perfect for lighting the way to the outdoor amenities!
