Guess what?
Well I suppose the title told you really.
Our gorgeous girls Pepper and Honey have done their job and presented us with our very first eggs.
Silkies eggs are smaller than regular layer chook eggs.
We used to use 3 silky eggs to two regular eggs a few years ago when we had Delores and Pam.
Master B found the eggs.
There was great excitement and he has "baggsed" egg collection as his job.
Well done girls, keep up the good work.
That IS exciting! Silkies are such funny chooks. Yours must be feeling happy so hopefully there's many more eggs to come :)
ReplyDeleteHope so Sarah, they are funny little things. They are like born Granny's. They fit in very well around here.
ReplyDeleteNice one girls!! Omelettes for brekky?
ReplyDeleteTiny ones!
ReplyDeleteI'm so envious! Still trying to figure out how I could have a few chooks here on a tiny urban section in the middle of the city!
ReplyDeleteThere are some very cute kit chook houses, maybe just one or two silkies. You can let them scratch around in the garden without doing much damage. they just eat the slugs and bugs.
DeleteCongratulations to all, your chooky-chooks are very gorgeous, Exciting times! Mxx
ReplyDeleteThank you I feel like a proud mother.
