Merry Christmas...best intentions

via Pinterest, sorry no source

I had to title this post "best intentions", because as you are aware I have been rather AWOL in blogland lately.
It is all Instagrams fault.

I have been having some fun learning how to layer my photos to add labels like this one.
Thanks to clever Katrina Chambers for pointing me in the right direction.

Now the silly season is upon us, I just had to show some of my favourite pictures this year.

Simple and white, perfect!

One of my favourite blogs for eye candy.

I found the picture via pinterest and added the words to make my own. However despite my best intentions, it hasn't happened.
Maybe next year!

I have tons of other pretty images,
If you pop over to my Pinterest page (link is on the sidebar) you can see them.

Not long to go now.
In the meantime, I will be cooking up a storm, doing some frenzied wrapping and sitting back sipping my homemade limoncello.
That is a whole other blog post.

Hope you and yours enjoy the festive season.

Christmas wrap up.

I thought I was ready to let Christmas go. Turns out I just needed one more post to let it all out of my system. Sorry, it's a long one.

Here we go.

Family Tradition - Gingerbread House
It is a family tradition for us now to make a Gingerbread house on Christmas Eve. We love it. The kids get very involved.

This years house had substantial modifications.

Outdoor toilet facilities for one.

Addition of gingerbread child proof fencing.

And, boiled lolly leadlight windows.

Stars
At the last minute I had the urge to make some star garlands. So Christmas eve saw me watching Carols by Candlelight and furiously crocheting and starching.

Excuse the didgeridoo. I don't know how that got in the shot.

Christmas table

Christmas Day here was stinking hot.

These poor birds were lying on the grass with their wings spread to try and cool down.

So I went with white and bright.
This was the thrifted damask tablecloth I picked up a couple of weeks ago at a bargain price.

If you have made it this far. Well done.

In the meantime,
I'll be playing with this.

Hanging out on Twitter

And chilling here.
And nibbling on this.

Colourful happy Christmas cushions

I recently found this rather cute material in Spotlight and decided to make some happy Christmas cushions.

The owl and the birds were my favourites.

I decided on pom poms and giant ric rac for the trims.

I was in haberdashery heaven.

The kids were less than impressed.

They like snap shopping decisions.

Does this print make you happy?

I love turning a pile of this, into

A pile of these.

It is bucketing rain here.
I think I will have to change my plans for what I am wearing out tonight.

Glitter lips might just wash off in this deluge!

What ever you are up to this weekend.

I wish you much

Deck the halls....

Well sort of ...
There were no boughs of holly to be found
tr la la la...

Yes we got the hint. (See previous post)

And set to work over the weekend putting up and decorating the tree.
(Please excuse dodgy power cord shots)

One of my clay tags made especially for the tree.

A bit of sparkle larkle!

This is our angel. She sits on the tree every year.
There is a current debate between Miss B and Big boy regarding who actually made her.

A bit of hall tablescaping.

Complete with raggy wreath.
Another project worked on with Miss B.

And a few strategically placed candles.

All works were done under the supervision of these 3 blokes.

We also made a crocheted star garland (See Rubie's place for more details)
and some cute little white birdies.
And some pom pom thingy's to put on the presents.
(See A Room for Everyone for inspiration)
All in all a very productive weekend.
(except for the ironing, it will just have to wait)
I'll post some pics when I get some decent ones.

If anyone has any ideas on how to centre my blog header please sing out.
I have tried going into template designer and altering the CSS to no avail.
Ahhhhhhhhh......

Jolly good Friday to you!

Hooray, it's Friday.
Today I am going on a shopping trip with my Mum.
But first, I need to share a little Christmas bargain.

These cheery t-towels fresh from Woolworth's.

Happily hanging on the line.

What a bargain at $2.99 for two.

Have you found any bargains lately?
