Collages for the love of spring.

I have read all the blogging do's and don't s that say you should not really post more than 5 pictures per post.
So I thought long and hard and decided that if I made collages then that rule might not apply.

Rules Shmules,
I think these pink blossoms want to be seen.

And I couldn't possibly have cut down on my shots of the girls having a scratch around in the garden

Or these moody blooms.

And, spring is about colour.

And softness and the promise of fresh new life.

So that is what is happening in the garden today,
and in only 60 six photos.

Stay tuned for Monday's giveaway from Mr M's
Moerkey Etsy shop.

2 favourite spots in my garden.

Some times when I collect the mail my breath catches in my throat at the sight of our garden. I know that is a little vain to say, but, it makes me feel happy to see the garden we painstakingly created growing.
After 12 years of drought, it is a wonder anything survived.
It has been so satisfying to see greenery around the place again, even if some of that green happens to be weed green!
I love seeing the brick path we laid curving up the gentle rise.
When the light is right I barely notice the weeds and the cricket stumps!
This leads me to my other favourite spot.

Sitting on the verandah, watching the kids shoot baskets or play cricket sipping on a cup of tea.
I am thinking of painting this setting the same colour as the window trims. Chalk USA, a creamy warm white. I know it is crazy as they will show all the dust, but, just imagine how good they will look when they get weathered and chippy.

Do you have favourite spots?  Care to share?

My Spring garden ...Friday flowers

Hello.

If you are not into gardens or don't like roses, this might not be the post for you.

If you do, then come on in, let me show you around our garden in spring.

This climbing rose is a beauty, always reliable and very fuss free.

These things are dietes (I think).
We planted tons of them in the big drought. We are just recovering the garden after 10 years of drought.
They are so hardy, never need watering and you can't kill them with a stick!
I like the flowers they look like iris's.

These roses are just there by the hair of their chinny chin chins. They have been dodgy for a number of years.
They must have heard me complaining and threatening to pull them out because they are performing well so far this season.
The lawn was scalped last weekend but I think it will green up quickly now the weather is warming up.

We recently installed these babies.
They are plumbed into the laundry and one of the toilets.
Excess water is used on the garden.

I love these roses.
They make really cute little posies.

These are by far my favourite roses.
I cut them and have them in the house often.

I only discovered these grannies bonnets the other day. I was delighted to find them.

These roses are bush roses gone a bit feral.
I can't bring myself to pull them out but they really are not very well behaved.

This one is very nice and extremly well mannered. Perhaps a little shy.

Are you sick of them yet?

My mum calls these "death lillies" or others call them "dunny lillies".
I think that is mean.
I rather like them.
I think they are sculptural.

Lulu says hello.
She bolted for her kennel when it started to spit with rain when I was taking the photos.

Garden action.

The pumpkins are a bit out of control.

They are a bit 'Day of the Trifid s.'

The zucchini, has joined in and gone crazy.

Master B is popping out to the garden and helping himself to handfuls of mini tomatoes.

Did your eagle eye spot the nasty?

We have had tons of zucchini. Now the powdery mildew is threatening them.

The pumpkins are looking pretty content.

The last of the hollyhocks, I think.

I wish this had been blooming for Valentines day.

Good old ever reliable plumbago. A bit of colour all year round.

We've bean gardening!

Happy Monday - I know that title is terrible but today, it's all about beans.

Mr M is an obsessed avid vege grower and he planted some beans earlier in the season on a teepee made from eucalyptus sticks gathered from over the road.

I picked some last night to go with our roast........................

Aren't these babies gorgeous! They smell divine and crunch like crazy.

After 10 years of drought, our green front lawn is my favorite backdrop.

Yum....

Jack would have been proud of this beanstalk!

Now, to have a yummy roast, you need potato, so this cheeky lady was unearthed....

The kids called her "Betty Bottom".

Have a happy day!
