Karajini National Park and home to red talculm powder.

"Ahhh, I can't take any more of this Pilbara dust. It is so fine and red and gets into everything" This was me privately at first and then not so privately muttering during our Karajini stay. I think after a taste of the beach it was hard to go back inland. Mr M however, did not feel the same, he loved it. The kids kept complaining "oh no, not another gorge" and then would throw themselves into the walk with gusto and have a great time. I must say the gorges were really amazing.  Often the land would appear flat and then out of nowhere there would be a huge fissure in the ground and another amazing gorge.

Not too close to the edge please!
Mr M, and the two older kids swam down there. It was icy.

Little tree way up high.

What a tangled web!

Lovely fern pool. Very pretty and oh so cold. Yes, I did have a swim!

The next photos were taken at Hammersly Gorge. For a while we were the only people there. Then after a while 4 more people arrived. Would you believe the 9 of us in a remote gorge in Western Australia were all from the same country Victorian town. Freaky!

The lines in the rocks were amazing.

Master B doing a happy dance on the bank. It was the "I can't tell you I am freezing because you will make me get out ,so I have to keep moving dance."
