Here we are, about as far North as we were going to get on this trip.
Looking at the sea off the coast of Darwin.
What a shame we couldn't swim in that beautiful sea.
We could swim here though! We had a ball at the wave pool.
Somehow I managed to get dumped backwards in the shallows on one of those blue rings, Very elegant indeed!
We stopped and read about the bombing of Darwin.
Then enjoyed Barra and chips on the wharf.
No trip to Darwin is complete without a visit to the famous Mindil Market.
And watching the sunset on the beach.
It was hot in Darwin, we had one of the hottest nights in July on record. So we invested $12.95 on an oscillating fan on a stand, pure camping luxury!

Isn't Darwin great! Great visual image of you in the wave pool Deb...and that's a gorgeous sunset image.

ReplyDeleteWow, it looks fabulous. I would really like to see it some time :)
ReplyDeleteYou're reminding me what an amazing place Darwin was to grow up in. Nothing like those sunsets. We used to swim in the ocean, can't believe it now, what with the crocs and jellyfish. We used to take a bottle of vinegar with us for stings! Enjoy, you're there at the best time of the year..head down to the Sailing Club for a drink too if you have time and watch the sunset again..Rachaelxx
ReplyDeleteYes we loved Darwin and would love to go back, preferably stay somewhere air conditioned!
