Grey textures

It's January in Australia, and I should be lying in front of the airconditioning hoping for a cool change.
Sadly it's cold.
The kids are huddled under rugs and I hate to admit it, but, I have just turned the heater on. (just for 5 mins to take the chill off, I promise).

See that velvet above. I want to pat it and dig my fingernails into it a little. Is that wrong?

    Hah! velvet sofas .. my grandmother used to have one and I spent hours smoothing and ruffling to make patterns - memories!

    I love the feel of velvet too Deb but what gets my heartbeat racing is chenille. Love Love chenille.

    I am loving that little bar...it's perfect...just the right shades of gray! While you are freezing, we are quite warm and that is very odd in Chicago this time of year! I hope it warms up for you!

    the picture frame in number one, the basket in two, the velvet in three (I so get the fingernail thing) and the rug! definitely, the rug in number four!

    I almost turned the heater on today, Deb. just couldn't bring myself to do it! Lucky cause I ended up with the air con on by the end of the day!!

      I felt very wicked, but I did it for a little while anyway. Yes I nearly put the air on tonight but I didn't dare.

    Our heater has been on for days.
    I blame the road trip and the fact that I'm not acclimatised to cold anymore.

      Can I blame our trip still? Maybe over a year is stretching things a bit. My WA cushion arrived from Cath this week I am very excited. I am going to stitch our trip on ah la yours. What a nice little reminder to have of the trip. Hope you are still settling in ok. I am dying for an update on the hair dresser debarcle.

    I know what you mean - I was in Port Fairy by the beach reading curling up by the fire would you believe. Bikinis and suntanning where the furtherest thing on my mind!
