Nearly home

Finallly across the Nullabor we were delighted but exhausted when we pulled in to Streaky Bay. We had it on good authority from the Grey Nomads that it was a lovely spot and they were right as usual.

We splurged on a cabin, spread out and cranked up the heater.

Streaky Bay is essentially a fishing village and provides services to the surrounding area.

The locals advised us not to swim beyond the row of bouys we could see from the beach.
They say there is a resident white pointer shark in the bay.
That is why they have this pool off the jetty.

After dark in the freezing cold, we tried our luck jigging for squid. Again they eluded us.
Never mind, maybe next holidays!

  1. I have just ben catching up on your trip as I've been away from the computer for a few days. The scenery along the coast is amazing and all those whales - wow! I just adored all those stunning wildflowers as well. I'd like to see Kings park in flower one day :)

  2. Sounds like it's been a wonderful holiday, well done Moerks! I'm only just picking myself up today after another devastating grand final. I love those boys and I hate to see all their hard work come to nothing. Bring on next year! Rachaelxx
