blackboards

I'm desperate for a blackboard for the kitchen.
I want something with a bit of ooomph, if you know what I mean!

An old cupboard door, or window frame or amazing frame is what I am after.
In the mean time,
I picked this up at the Salvo's today.

It's missing a bit of one corner, but we will see what the magic of paint can do!

  4. Every wall in our home has the original beading on it, so we painted a whole panel in between the beading with chalkboard paint...straight on the kitchen wall. It looks fabulous and is so handy and was one of the cheapest and easiest projects. Lottie spends hours drawing on it in winter when I am cooking. Great for shopping list, menus or 'I love you' messages:) You will love having one Deb!! I LOVE your new frame, what a find! Cannot wait to see your chalkboard. ~ Txx

  7. Love blackboards too. I have painted one direct onto the wall in my little girl's room and then just used paint to make a frame for it. One thing to watch out for is the chalk dust that collects on the floor. I think your salvos frame will be fab.
I have just discovered you blog - it's great x

  14. what a "timely" post! Just last night I started to prep my refrigerator for the chalk board. Today will put on my first coat of the chalk board paint, I got mine in black as my kitchen is black and white. Will post photos as soon as it is done. Enjoy! I personally couldn't have found a better place for my "shopping or to do list".
