I have been spending way too much time on the computer these last few days.
But look at these gorgeous pics I came across.
Loooove the big white and grey mirror.
Part of a gorgeous house feature. You can find more of this lovely home here.
An update on the blackboard.
When I undercoated the frame white, the whole thing turned a rather pretty yet disturbing shade of green.
I soldiered on and have put on a top coat.
I'll just have to wait and see what happens next.
I also think Mr M has given me a dodgy pot of blackboard paint left over from the 1960's,
it smells disgusting and is a bit powdery when dry.
This whole DIY thing is fraught with obstacles!
I also had to go back to the Salvo's again today for something I had been thinking about ever since reading The Painted Hive blog.
I saw it yesterday and thought about it rather obsessively all night.
Lucky it was still there waiting for me this morning.
All will be revealed hopefully in due course.
Oh I love cabagge & roses prints.. they just get it so right!! beautiful images!! and that mirror is superb!! wish I find one of those at Salvos,.
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling of wishing you'd grabbed something you saw earlier.. .. I did that myself last year.. and really I'm supposed to be downsizing. haha.. Can't wait to see what you are up to next..... ciao xxx Julie
Oh you big tease! :))
ReplyDeleteThe rainy weather has had much the same effect on me computer wise. I'm just enjoying seeing what everyone is doing. I must finish my blackboards... I've a few that I started...paused... you know! :) I look forward to the secret salvo find. Good for you. If you slept on it, and it was still there, it was meant to be yours! :)
ReplyDeleteI vowed with the new year that I would spend less time on the laptop and I have been terrible about it! Too many interesting things going on now that we have all shown off our holiday decor!
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the blackboard, you are a determined lady! I think the beautiful frame makes it well worth the trouble.
Beautiful photos. Love all the florals!
XO,
Jane
Love the pics, so beautiful. Sounds like you have an exciting project on the go - can't wait to hear and see more!
ReplyDeleteI am loving that mainly white, red and pink combo right now too.
ReplyDeleteSounds exciting Deb. I just found an old picture frame in the garage and also got to thinking about a 'the painted hive project'. Can't wait to see what you are up to. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat is one beautiful home Deb...and I just love that mirror too! ~Deb~
ReplyDeleteOh I love that mirror and those images are divine. I have also painted a small frame and had a go at spray painting the middle with blackboard paint. It was very powdery too, but after a couple of coats it was OK...I used black blackboard paint as green blackboard paint was also available. Can't wait to see what you have found :)
ReplyDeleteMr M didn't give you green blackboard paint, did he? Can't wait to see what you bought. xx
ReplyDeleteLovely images , the last one makes me want to move to the country (which we have been talking about ) but how does one do that & still send the children to the same school ?
ReplyDeleteLove the frame ,cant wait to see the result. Just dont tease us for too long.

I love the Cabbages and Roses...and I think that's Cath Kidston wallpaper, no?
ReplyDeleteIt's a gorgeous house - I'm off to have a peek!

Oh i think, on the whole blackboard paint thing, i might go for the readymade painted black board panels you can buy from a hardware store, then cut to size. You're not alone in your paint version struggle. Love Posie
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures! I get lost on the internet too drooling over pretty stuff. It's all for free so why not! Have a great day! xo
