Kitchen of my dreams

It is entirely possible that I have been watching too many episodes of Escape to the Country.

Because, when I saw this kitchen over at Modern Country Style.

I seriously thought, I had died and gone to Kitchen heaven.

I can see Allistar (from Escape to the country)striding through, pointing out the flagstones and the wonderful red aga out to keen buyers who are trying to restrain themselves and not appear too eager.

And the beams, he would say, "Aren't they rather lovely".

Thanks Sarah from Modern Country style for the lovely, lovely kitchen.

love this organisation

I love this spot of organisation.

It's in the home of blogger Melanie of My Sweet Savannah

See the clipboard on the wall.
It is painted in blackboard paint.
It has ribbon attached to chalk and a magnet with a round circle of felt as the duster.
Her children have one each.
Each day they clip their school notes to the board so she can find them.

I need one of these areas at my house.
I am off now for a restorative coffee with the girls.
I need it.
I had a very hard, first squash game of the season.
Everything aches.
And yes, I did win.
Otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned it! :)

White with pinky red.

I have been spending way too much time on the computer these last few days.
But look at these gorgeous pics I came across.
Loooove the big white and grey mirror.

Part of a gorgeous house feature. You can find more of this lovely home  here.

An update on the blackboard.
When I undercoated the frame white, the whole thing turned a rather pretty yet disturbing shade of green.
I soldiered on and have put on a top coat.
I'll just have to wait and see what happens next.

I also think Mr M has given me a dodgy pot of blackboard paint left over from the 1960's,
it smells disgusting and is a bit powdery when dry.

This whole DIY thing is fraught with obstacles!

I also had to go back to the Salvo's again today for something I had been thinking about ever since reading The Painted Hive blog.
I saw it yesterday and thought about it rather obsessively all night.
Lucky it was still there waiting for me this morning.
All will be revealed hopefully in due course.
