4 ideas for crafty girl party activities.

Miss B recently turned 11. That curious age where one is a little girl one minute, then the sophisticate the next!

She asked for a craft party.

So crafty we did.

We started off with finger puppets.
Nana knitted the bodies, felt and bits and pieces were added on.
Nana found the pattern in the New Idea.
Pip Lincolne from Meet me at Mikes blog was the creator.

Next was painting some blackboards.
We used Martha Stewarts blackboard paint recipe.
1 cup of paint to 2 tablespoons of unsanded grout.

In between there was some punch, some dancing and time to sit on the tramp and discuss important things like "boys".

The latest hair accessory was made.
the girls got right into this activity.

And, to finish off the night.
Some pet rocks were created.

It was fun and exhausting.
Poor big boy retreated to the lounge room when one of the giggly mass declared not so quietly that she thought he was
"a little bit hot".

Lordy wordy, I am dreading adolescence!

  3. Oh Deb. Look at all those miniature women on the trampoline having a chinwag. If they were boys they'd be jumping non-stop!! Your craft project ideas were really cool too. They grow up so fast! xx

  5. These young boys get all embarrassed at the attention of the girls but I have found that they secretly love the attention. Speaking as a mom of young teens, their ego and confidence is given a great boost by such attention. Adolescence is so much fun (for them and the parents - ha!) but what I dread is the first heartbreak.

  6. Hi Deb

What a wonderful mum you are - and what a wonderful idea for a party - I have a while to go yet but I need to put this in the memory bank.

Gosh you had some great ideas too.

Umm.... is this all to come for me.... and the word Hot!

Well I suppose it's cool to be hot!

  10. What a fun party! I use to love parties when I was little.

My boys don't really care too much for them.

I really want a meringue now I've seen those! x
