Macarons. In search of the elusive foot.

via CountryStyleChic

The other night I recieved a very excitipated phone call from a friend.

She had mastered the elusive macaron foot!

After much screaming and congratulations both husbands were left wondering just what was going on.

Have you attempted the macaroon?
Did you achieve the foot?
Tell me please.

All tips and tricks gratefully recieved.

In the meantime, some lovelies to make your mouth water.

See those lovely feet.

Next time I make my delicious chocolate ganache ones I will post a pick
These are oh so delectable but never ever have a mangaged to produce one with a foot.

I have purchased the Donna Hay pack from the Supermarket,
but,
I kinda feel that is cheating.

Spill people, tell me your secrets please.

And, what is the correct way to spell it?

  2. Hi Deb, I've made them a few times and managed little feet. They weren't super perfect but tasted pretty good. I'm sure I have a link somehwere about making the perfect macaron. I'll try to find it :)

  3. I've always wanted to give them a go myself but I've always heard they were so tricky to perfect. They look oh so pretty though.

  4. I've seen those in the supermarket, I guess they are kinda cheating!

  6. Well I must be the only person in the world who hasn't tasted one of these pretty macaroons even though I spy them everywhere.
A foot? No idea what this is in reference to creating a macaroon. I know..ignorant as all get out.

    1. The foot is the bumpy bit the bottom that sort of looks like it shouldn't be there. It makes it look a bit messy. Apparently it is the thing to aim for. Never mind, I didn't know until very recently.
