Magic Beach

Have you heard of the children's story, Magic Beach by Alison Lester?

This photo is taken at the beach, just around the corner.
It is called Waratah Bay,
it looks out over Wilson's Prom.
On the cold South coast of Victoria.

I snapped this pic. there just the other day when we were visiting.
The whole time on the beach Alison Lester's words were ringing in my ears.

"At our beach,
our magic beach,
we search in the clear warm pools,
peering at starfish limpets and crabs
and tiny fish darting in schools"

See the prom in the background.

We also love Alison Lester's book.
Are we there yet?
It's about a family travelling around Australia.
We took it on our trip a couple of years ago.

  1. I've never been to Wilson's Prom. Your photo looks lovely. There is something lovely about beaches in winter. I haven't read either of those books either. Feeling quite uneducated now!

  2. Lisa, you could put it on your "one day list" it is a beautiful and rugged part of Victoria.

  3. I haven't heard of the book, but what a gorgeous spot! Another place I haven't been to - this country is so vast. I know I'll never see it all, but that's ok, I can see it via my bloggy friends!
