The lovely Jenny from The Five Year Project has joined forces with her sister to create Jitta Jack Homewares online store.

Here are some lovelies I spied today.

Pop over here, if you would like to see more.
Wishing you both lots of success with your new venture.

Recent Reading and general wanderings.

Hello, thank you for all your lovely Easter Greetings. I hope you had a lovely time too.

We are home, safe and sound with a tonne of washing to do.
Why does the ironing always seem to be double the amount of washing?

Mind you, I am one of those strange types who actually don't mind doing a bit of ironing, not too much  though or I get a bit sick of it.

Now, just before Easter and during the break I managed to read some real life actual books and thought I would share.

A brief note:
I am not generally known for choosing high brow reading materials.
Scroll elsewhere if you are looking for something meaty and intellectually challenging!

For some strange reason I put off reading "The Food of love" for ages. However once I started, I devoured it in two sittings. And thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I may have to cook some of the recipes in the back of the book.

Then I read, "Left Neglected" about a lady who sustains some brain damage in a car accident and basically neglects the entire left of her body. I found it fascinating.

Then as light relief,
"The Shoe Princesse's Guide to the Galaxy"
light, fluffy, some laugh out loud bits and lots of references to blogging.

Now to a bit of wandering.

Over Easter, Mr M's parents celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
We all went out to lunch which was lovely.

After the lunch we wandered around on the pretext of letting the kids burn off some energy.

I really just wanted to look at the buildings.

Hope you managed a break over Easter too.

And, do you have any book ideas for me?
I am always looking for something to read or suggest for bookclub.

You've got mail...

Actually, it's me that has mail.

Direct from the Palace.

Look away if you can't handle unpolished nails.

I mentioned it yesterday.

Isn't the creater a very clever girl.

If anyone needs me on the 29th,
I'll be the one with champagne in hand.

All these photos were taken with my ipod and playing around with instamatic.
Oh the joys of apps.

While we are on the subject of mail.
Just a couple of lovelies to leave you with via bespoke letterhead press.

Hope the postie brings you something nice.
Actually anything other than bills would be a start.

Have you heard there is a royal wedding?

I am waiting with baited breath for the local $2 shop to bring out it's range of Royal Wedding paraphenalia.

Not because I am a Royalist or anything.

It's just that I have been invited.

A bunch of ladies,
consuming champagne.
Wearing assorted bridal bits and pieces.
Watching the wedding.

It should be a hoot.
If you happen to come up with any suggestions for me.
I am all ears
(and I am not talking rudely about Charles when I say that!)

Story of an old stool.

I found this old stool at the Kenny Rd Department Store, known to the locals as "the tip".
It cost me 2 bucks.

I took it home and scrubbed it up a bit.

And gave it the white coat treatment.

Not being content with that I got out Mr Hook and made a pretty little cover.

Inspired by the Yvestown blog, where I spied this little number.

Wood and Wool stool
Not being one who likes to follow a complete pattern.

One who prefers to try a bit of this and that.

I visited Lucy at Attic 24 for ideas for the top and sides and googled
edging stitches for well obviously,
the edge.

I think the wonkiness makes it more homely;)

I then set about a photo shoot for the stool.
I used my ipod and my camera and spent ages fiddling with all the apps.

Guess whose hubbies is a Weeds Agronomist?

We are gearing up for footy and netball tomorrow.
Before then I intend to put in some
serious
time on the couch tonight.
Hope you have a terrific weekend.

If you don't know what to do with yourself.
Well,
I would recommend a trip to your
tip shop.
You never know what you might find.

That's it.

Image via desire to inspire

That's it.
That's the one.
Just this bit here.
This is the cabin that has been in my head.
It's my ideal weekender.

It is just what I would like
to create.
In the bush,
at the base of the mountains.

A warm cosy fire.
A sunny deck.
Happy, relaxed.
Yep, that's the one for me.
Would it do for you?

Kennel makeover.

Our sweet dog Lulu was much in need of a kennel makeover.

See, tired, dreary, weedy and no wow factor.

Poor Lulu.

Then, fortune struck.
And I was the winner of a Ramsign sign.
Thanks to Tracey of My House of Giggles.

So, we got a rubbing and a scrubbing, and cleaned inside and out.

Now that Autumn is well and truely here it gets chilly at night.
So we fitted some carpet.
And a fancy crochet rug.
(No, not one of mine in case you were wondering.)

I know Lulu likes crochet, because she sits at my feet at night when I get the hook out.
(She has her own inner granny)

A couple of pots of white flowers,
fresh water,
and a welcome mat.

If you were wondering about the chain.
Sometimes eg when Mr M is chopping wood, we have to chain her up for her own safety as she tries to chase the flying pieces of wood.

One very happy fluffy puppy.

She has been popping in and out all afternoon since we did the makeover. She just lays in there with her head poking out the door.
I swear there is a smug look on her face!
