A San Francisco Victorian Home - Sigh.

Look at this lovely organisation.

The neutral palette.

Sigh, my kids would make mince meat out of those lovely fresh looking chairs.

Where ever would they have found this amazing flour sack style doona cover?

And that chunky cable throw.

I found it all here over at Country Living.

Happy Monday.

Garden action.

The pumpkins are a bit out of control.

They are a bit 'Day of the Trifid s.'

The zucchini, has joined in and gone crazy.

Master B is popping out to the garden and helping himself to handfuls of mini tomatoes.

Did your eagle eye spot the nasty?

We have had tons of zucchini. Now the powdery mildew is threatening them.

The pumpkins are looking pretty content.

The last of the hollyhocks, I think.

I wish this had been blooming for Valentines day.

Good old ever reliable plumbago. A bit of colour all year round.

Bathroom Inspiration

Our bathroom is starting to look a little dated.
It's shabby, but not in a good way.
So I turned to Gap Interiors for a little inspiration.

What do you think?
Fancy any of the above?

Water sports - I am sailing

Cue music, Rod Stewart, "I am sailing, I am sailing"

Once upon a time when there was just Mr and Mrs M and no little M's. Mr and Mrs M liked to go to the lake and sail their little yacht.
Actually Mrs M. sort of liked it, but didn't like the nasty boom that always wanted to whack her on the side of the head when she wasn't expecting it. Anyway, then there was a very big drought and all the lakes dried up and Mr and Mrs M were too busy producing little M's to be out sailing.
That is until the "big wet" this year. See here.

Last weekend, we retrieved the little boat from the Yacht club and were amazed to find that it hadn't been eaten by white ants.

Here she is all spruced up with a fresh coat of varnish.

Now all the lakes around are full and all sorts of water sports are back on the agenda.
So this weekend we took our little Mirror yacht and our kayaks out to one of the lakes for a bit of water sport.

The yacht is called " the boat" the purple kayak is called "the purple bean" and the blue kayak is called "the kids kayak".

They all took turns sailing with Mr M.

Hello Euan if you are reading.
Thank you for introducing me to sailing at Metung, all those years ago!

Whilst all this was going on.
I wandered around with the camera.

I think we will be spending many happy hours out here on the lake.

bright happy stripes

All images via Gap Interiors

It's overcast and a little gloomy outside today.
So I thought bright happy stripes were in order.
Have a terrific day.

love this organisation

I love this spot of organisation.

It's in the home of blogger Melanie of My Sweet Savannah

See the clipboard on the wall.
It is painted in blackboard paint.
It has ribbon attached to chalk and a magnet with a round circle of felt as the duster.
Her children have one each.
Each day they clip their school notes to the board so she can find them.

my sweet savannah
I need one of these areas at my house.
I am off now for a restorative coffee with the girls.
I need it.
I had a very hard, first squash game of the season.
Everything aches.
And yes, I did win.
Otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned it! :)

Bike update

treehugger.com

After my grand declaration mid life crisis  of commencing riding by bike to work, I have started to see a flaw in the system.

You see, on day one I set off full of enthusiasm.
Managed to cross the road in one piece.
Then as I crossed over a bit of dirt track (which I like to call my cross country stretch of the trip)
and a dirty big branch from a gum tree fell to the ground literally metres away.
I nearly fell off my bike.

Then with grim determination I continued.
Sadly it was a case of going
"too hard too fast"
very soon I was buggered!
By the time I got to work, my legs were like jelly and I couldn't talk for at least 5 mins.
A veritable record for me!
Anyway, hair check was ok and I had a leisurely ride home, all good.

Now yesterday.
Head wind,
not good.
Tail gated,
not good,
 then passed
by the tail gating old man
on a gopher!!!
Not good at all.

My ego is dented.
Seriously.
Today,
I am driving the car!
(Hopefully it will be raining and no one will know I wimped out.)

For the love of Mr Darcy

Imagine my joy when I stumbled upon Mr Darcy's proposal
sitting happily in the

My heart fluttered and I just knew I must share.

Feel free to take a moment and remember the glorious scene where
Mr Darcy (aka Colin Firth) emerges from the lake
resplendent in dripping white shirt.

Sigh....................
