Hallway mud rooms and school holiday plans.

the considered space

via pinintrest

Hi there.
Just today and tomorrow left before we launch into school holidays.
Hooray.
Our eldest started college this year,
he is so tired.
I am looking forward to letting him sleep in, and doze around in his PJ's like a proper teenager should.

I was however, totally gobsmacked the other night, when, out of the blue,
he asked me if, during the holidays

"would you help me clean out my room please?"

After I picked myself up off the floor.
I casually nodded and smiled and coolly said.
"sure".
Then I left the room,
punched the air and did a few very uncool dance steps.

Now, how does any of this relate to those lovely hallway pictures?

Well,
It doesn't really.
I just liked them.
And thought you might too.

Grey and pink and internet frustration!

One of the great things about blogging is that it is such an adventure.
Sometimes, I sit down to quickly to the rounds of my favourites and end up in places I never planned  to go.
some how I found this blog
Rather sums me up really.

Apologies for the lack of visits.
Our internet provider has just announced we are about at the limit of our allowance and are soon to be restricted to a slow slow speed.
Grrr, thanks new teenager!
Thanks for downloading TV shows Grrrrrr.

Roll on end of the month, when normal transmission will resume!.

Old faded chipped and cracked.

Faded chipped and cracked probably best describes my poor old winter skin.

But when the words are applied to old timber.

Something rather magical happens.

I love this one, it is like a symphony of colours to me.

I could frame this and look at it on the wall.

There is a lot to be said for faded, chipped and cracked methinks.

check out the date.....

Yes, it is today, (if you ignore the tiny inconsequential bit that says October).
My poor old eyes can hardly read that bit anyway.

Groovy lamp ehh?

We are all a bit tired this morning.
A huge storm blew through last night.
It was crazy outside.
Makes you feel all warm and cosy tucked up in bed.
This morning the sun is peeking through and shining down on the very damp greenery.
Sort of looks pretty.

I was glued to The Block last night.
It was great to see our bloggie buddy Katrina Chambers on the big screen.
I hope she does really well.

Have a happy Tuesday the 21st.

Get Lost!.......In Paris

Wow!
Some people are just so clever.

These gorgeous Paris images
are the work of etsy seller  LittleBrownPen.

This is how they describe their work.

The French have a word for what we do: Flâner. It means to stroll with no destination in mind, simply for the pleasure of it. Our photo collections are a record of the serendipitous discoveries found by getting lost in Paris.

Hang the photos together to recreate a large-scale, virtual stroll through the streets of Paris.

I love how the photo's are curated into groups.

The French even have stylish graffiti.

It's chilly Friday afternoon here, and quickly turning into a chilly Friday night.
I have had a little one home from school today feeling miserable.
So,
I have made a big pot of vege soup.
Hoping
all the vege goodness will
have her feeling good again in no time.

I hope you have a good weekend.
If not,
just have another look at these photo's
and
Pretend you are in Paris.

I've been at it again......

I have had the old crochet hook out again.

It's hard to find things to crochet.

That are kind of socially acceptable.

I do realise that it is not everyone's cup of tea.

I think in the right circumstances.

And, when paired with an old wrinkly nightie from the dress up box.

It can look quite pretty.

Linking up here and here.

Sconetastic

Sconetastic is another line stolen from
If you don't already know her blog, pop over and visit. She is full of inspiration regarding all manner of domestic and international stuff.

These wonderful scones were consumed by a group of us by the creek in a rather idyllic setting.

After footy and netball, a group of us visited a friends farm where the blokes went all macho and chopped wood for our fire.

See the colour of the redgum.
It is rather magnificent.

The boys were cleaning up trees which had fallen over after the January storms and floods.

Whilst they were hard at work, we ladies kept the fire burning and kept half an eye on the children.

It's a long weekend here for the Queen's Birthday.
This morning Mr M made pancakes for breakky.

Mmmmmm

I attempted to take shots to show off the table Mr M made.

I will keep trying,
I need to do it justice.
I may have to try tablescaping al la Sarah from abeachcottage.

Sarah always gets it white right.

To steal more lines from Faux fuschia,
I luff the new table 11/10.

Eclectic colour!

Va va voom.
A burst of colour perfect for a Monday morning.

Love this crazy lamp!

Living etc via A passion for beautiful things.

How was your weekend?

1st option

Mine was good.
Very social.
I reckon I made about 40 cups of tea and coffee.
Lots of people calling in.

better homes

Some catching up with old friends.
Some catching up with our lovely neighbours.
A lot of chatting.
I love it when the house is humming.
Did I tell you Mr M has made us a new kitchen table?
Probably not.
I have had trouble with the dreary winter light.
I am trying to take a picture to do this beauty justice.
It's a lovely table and was the hub of chatting and catching up over the weekend.

I will try and catch some good light and show it to you.
Guess what colour it is?
