Ruffles

Agent bauer

I have noticed a lot of ruffley goodness around in blogland lately.

So pretty.

How was your weekend?
Did you get up to much?

We had a lot of misty drizzle.
Not enough to cancel Auskick thank goodness.
Just enough to stop the washing drying.

I went on a shopping trip with a friend.
(4 hours travel). In shop A, the lady was very encouraging, "just forage and try on" was her mantra. My friend found a great top. On the way out we asked about a shop round the corner. "just be careful" she warned. "She will tell you anything looks good".

Off we went to shop B. The lady in shop B marches up and says to both of us, "mother of the bride or groom?" Er "I got that wrong didn't I" she says.

Well, we were stunned followed by hysterical laughter, wondering if was our 7, 10 or 12 yr olds getting married.

Went back to shop A to report. She just laughed and suggested we go back later in the morning when shop B lady was onto her 4th drink.

Ouch, it did sting!

So back to ruffles, they are pretty aren't they!

new boots

Do you remember a short while back, I was waxing lyrical about my desire for gumboots or Wellies.
Well,
I found some.
A bit of a bargain.

They are not Hunters, not by any stretch of the imagination.

I have photographed them with fresh grass and mud from my morning trip to the clothesline in situ.

I like to pretend I am trudging around on my country estate.

(Yes definitely too much Escape to the Country has been watched in our house). Speaking of which, it is on tonight!

If you need me I'll be outside jumping in the puddles doing important gardening things!

Pale and pretty

Hi there.
It's been a long time between posts this week.

Something to do with too much time spent at work.
And too much home time spent huddling on the couch!

Those warm fluffy socks wouldn't go astray around here.

It was pretty hard to find something to post after that gorgeous kitchen.
The red Aga.
My heart is still beating erratically.

Pale and pretty works for me too!

Hope you are having a toasty warm and pretty day.

Kitchen of my dreams

It is entirely possible that I have been watching too many episodes of Escape to the Country.

Because, when I saw this kitchen over at Modern Country Style.

I seriously thought, I had died and gone to Kitchen heaven.

I can see Allistar (from Escape to the country)striding through, pointing out the flagstones and the wonderful red aga out to keen buyers who are trying to restrain themselves and not appear too eager.

And the beams, he would say, "Aren't they rather lovely".

Thanks Sarah from Modern Country style for the lovely, lovely kitchen.

dreamy bedroom and sporting pursuits.

agent bauer

How pretty is this lovely room.
I love the fire in the grate.
The soft greys and the ever so slightly shabby mirrors.

I am happy to see blogger appears to be behaving again.

It was a busy week last week.
Bookclub, parents club and two lots of squash.

Ok I wasn't going to mention squash but Janette did ask as well we did just happen to win the grand final.

Another big glass to add to the various size squash glasses. yipee.
I am taking a break now over winter it is just too cold to be standing around for hours at night in the cold unheated courts.

Squash is pretty much a dying sport in the country.
It's sad really.
It's a great sport. Very competitive, high intensity and requires a lot of planning and quick thinking.
When you are on the court you really can't think of anything other than the game.
It is also excellent for the butt muscles!

Instead, I have taken up running and am thoroughly addicted.
I love it.

This is how I imagine I look.

The reality

A skinny version of this is more my reality.

I am doing the Couch to 5 kms app on my ipod and am into the 5th week. Yay me.

In other sporting news,
big boy kicked 2 goals in footy and got a $5 sunicrust bakery award,
Miss B shot 4 netball goals and got a tenpin bowling voucher and Master B smiled and had a wow of a time at Auskick.

And just so Mr M doesn't feel left out, I should say he has been swimming 3 times a week doing 50 laps of the local pool. He is crazy!

I would love to hear of your sporting news and if anyone is doing the C to 5 I would love to know how it is going.

Staying warm and dry.

Don't panic.

I didn't crochet this.

It's just that it's been really cold and wet and I just would like to be wrapped up on the couch like this.

It's been a crazy week in Moerk land.

Squash finals, (wish me luck for tonight)
footy, netball training,
parents club
and book club.

All this in wet, cold weather.

So it has made me covet these.

No, not the deer, or the apple.

The boots,
it's all about the boots.

Hunter Australia

You can even get groovy polar fleece socks for them.

What do you think?
Perfect for footy, netball, and generally trudging around in the wet?
Or
a little over the top
for a rainy day school pick up?

Simple and orderly

agent bauer

Isn't this just pure heaven.
Gorgeous!

It's Friday night, the kids are home from school.
I have decided what is for dinner.

I have just put my slippers and trackky dacks on.
I think I will hop on the couch and have a little read of the Women's Day and see all those lovely Royal Wedding photos, one more time!

I hope you have a good weekend and to all the Mothers out there I hope you get spoilt rotten!

Cruising round in blogland

I was cruising round in blogland the other day.
And, you know how it is.

One click leads to another and before you know it another hour has gone.

And you still haven't hung the washing out on the line.

The fruit bowl is empty and you know you have to go shopping.

There really are jobs that need to be done.
